HOLY F***. WE MADE IT.

This has been a YEAR, hasn't it? I've watched good businesses close, bad businesses steal, I've watched misinformation thrive, watched families grow tighter, I've seen church mouses step outside of their comfort zones and stand up for their communities and everything in between.

But you know what? Through what feels like nonstop B.S., this community that Soap Distillery has continues to grow, and you all continue to support and inspire me to bring you all the best I possibly could. You've shown me and my team over and over again how important our work is within your daily lives. A little scent of relaxation and relief and joy...you know, YOUR favorite scent :)

So this year, I want to spend a little time not just recapping my experience here, but also your experience here, because within this space, that's what's most important.

Two jars of Tomato Vine & Lemon Basil hand cream and scrub stacked on a wooden stick with green leaves in the background.

Sometimes me treating myself turns into me offering you the option to treat yourself too :) This set here on the left might be one of the product releases that I am the most proud of from 2025, hands down (every pun intended). I got pretty far outside of my comfort zone with regard to the scent because I worked with a sharp green fragrance that I wasn't initially sure how to work with, and y'all absolutely LOVED this with ZERO influencer "influence". Just 100% trust in me and my team to create something that you'd love. 💚

Three reviews of Soap Distillery's limited edition summer solstice hand care kit

I initially created this set as a personal treat for my own hands as a gardener, and I really wanted the scent to be reminiscent of being in the garden: smelling herbs, touching grass, harvesting veggies...low and behold, I wasn't the only one! :)

A YEAR OF PUSHING CREATIVE BOUNDARIES

Ghost stories candle and bar soap from Halloween 2024

So, if you're new here, you probably don't know how much I love Halloween. Ok like, Y'ALL...I friggin' LOOOOOOVEEE Halloween. Years ago, I released a bar soap called Corpse Reviver 2, modeled after the cocktail and clearly I was overdue for a refresher!

This scent, filled with notes of roasted marshmallow, pine needle, eucalyptus, cedar and moonflower and it again allowed me to flex my creative muscles. I even loved the design of the packaging as it was also outside of my comfort zone. A few tutorials were needed, and AI wasn't invited to help.

Here's what y'all had to say about this one:

  • I love this scent both for the candle and the soap! I think it’s my new favorite and hope it comes back or even stays around! You won’t regret it. - Matt
  • SD never fails to make their seasonal soaps something to set your alarm for. This particular batch evokes fall spirits (both witchy and cozy) with it's hint of smoke, wood, and all around "sitting by the fall fire with friends" vibe. - Zac D.
  • I Want more of it! I love ❤️ the scent of this bar soap!! Would really like to see it available on a regular basis. I only bought 2 bars when it was available and wish I had bought more. Would love to see it available in a hand and body shower bottle as well!! My new favorite scent! - Anonymous customer (didn't wish to share their name!)

OK THEN, WHAT'S NEXT?

In the end, it's not just about shopping "small". It's always been about knowing where your money goes and supporting those who support you back which is why this year has felt extremely special. Your messages, emails, and seeing photos of Soap Distillery in your homes, pockets, and vacations wants me to let the creative floodgates wide open, ya know?

I've got some very exciting plans for some new scents, maybe an old scent, some new product lines and of course we're gonna kick off the year with a birthday sale so look out for that :) It's also going to be a year of refreshing and stepping into our "no rules" era. I can't wait to show you what's been happening behind the scenes. What I can say is that, it's going to be the year of unapologetic creativity.

I'll leave you with a few scent notes that I'm currently obsessed with: black rose, Texas cedar, lemon balm, sundew, green grass...

What scent notes are you feeling these days? What's your current obsession? Let me know in the comments, or shoot us an email here.
