Product Questions

Will your cocktail themed products make me smell like I've been drinking?

No, only that beer in your hand and that shot of whiskey in front of you will make you smell like you've been drinking. Seriously though, we use proprietary blend of oils in all of our products that give them the amazing scent that they have, and a little of that scent gets left behind. Instead of smelling like booze, you'll smell clean and like lavender, juniper, cedarwood, or other common fragrances.

Are your products edible?

We know they smell good enough to eat, however, our products are not meant to be eaten so please do not try. We use many food grade ingredients but Soap Distillery does not make food: we make soap. And we’re pretty good at that.

How do you develop your fragrances?

Our cocktailed blends come from a combination of how cocktails/spirits/beer/wine tastes and smells. That way we can develop a more well rounded fragrance. We use this same principle when creating our non-cocktailed blends as well, using a myriad of different notes to create complex and uniquely refined fragrances that meet current proposition 65 compliance.

Are your fragrances all natural?

We use a variety of essential oils, natural fragrances, and proposition 65 compliant fragrances to help us create well rounded scents that are also sustainable to produce. Did you know that it takes roughly 42 lbs of roses to create one small 5ml bottle of rose essential oil? That takes quite a lot of land and resources to produce! There are also essential oils like palo santo and sandalwood that are now unsustainable to produce as the raw materials are more scarce, and due to their popularity and lack of responsible sourcing, production of those oils have caused these trees to become more scarce in nature. This not only harms our ecosystem, it also drives the cost up. Because of this, the catch-all "all natural" doesn't always equal eco-friendly or safe, and we only source essential oils and natural isolates that are regenerative.

Orders + Shipping

Can I make changes to my order after it has been placed?

Once your order has been placed, we are unable to make changes to it. Please be sure your order and shipping address is correct, otherwise, you may encounter shipping and/or processing delays. 

How do I send an order as a gift?

It’s super easy! Just order what you’d like for them, and at checkout, add their name and address to the shipping address section. If you’d like to say “Hey! I miss your face” or generally add a note for them, just add the note to the note section at checkout as they will see it :)

How do gift cards work?

Gift Card codes are sent via email, and are only redeemable on The codes do not expire, and multiple codes can be entered. That's it! easy peasy.

Can I start a subscription for a product I love?

Heck yes! We fully support subscribing to your favs. This way, you’ll never run out because who likes that?

How it works: Journey to the product you’d like to purchase and subscribe to the product on the product page by selecting your frequency. Your subscription starts the day your item has been ordered. Three days before your subscription is set to ship, you’ll get a reminder email and will be able to change or add items to it. Then, on subscription day, an order will automatically be placed for your items and will begin processing. That’s it!

How do I collect points on my order for customer rewards?

The great news is that, any order placed on our website will accrue points for you! In order to access your points, you’ll need to create an account by clicking on the person icon on the top of any page. Once you log in, your points will be there.

For every dollar spent on Soap Distillery products (excluding gift cards and shipping) you will receive 1 point. When you have 100 points you are eligible to claim a $10 voucher to spend in our online store. Points can only be accumulated and rewards redeemed for orders made on You will also gain points by having a birthday if you add your birthday date to your account :)

Do you have a payment plan option?

We do! At checkout, if you would like to pay using installments, just use the Shop App to check out. There, you can apply for installments and break your order payments up into four installments. Available for all orders over $50.00usd.

I would like to place a wholesale or bulk order. How should I go about this?

If you would like a bulk order, or to apply for wholesale, you can either apply for wholesale here, email us at, or, if it’s not a wholesale request, shoot us a message at and tell us more about your project! We do offer bulk discounts and will be happy to pass along more information.

Do you offer free shipping?

We absolutely do! Take advantage of FREE SHIPPING on orders over $49.99 (after any applied discounts, before taxes). All other orders will ship our domestic flat rate cost of $7 USD. Shipping speeds displayed at check out will not speed up your processing time, so please plan ahead. ***Please note: UPS shipping does not qualify for our free shipping incentive.***

I live in Chicago and don't want to pay shipping. Can I pick my items up from you?

Totes, malotes, dawg. Just put "local pick up" in the notes of your order and we'll be in touch!

How long will it take until I get my order?

We get it. Waiting is the hardest part! We are currently shipping items within 3-5 business days of receiving your order. Once shipped, it can take anywhere from 2-10 business days for your items to arrive depending on your location.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently ship internationally to Mexico, Canada, and Germany. 

International customers: Please note, our free shipping incentive only applies to customers within the Contiguous United States. 

My products were damaged in shipping. What should I do?

Please reach out to us at, and we will be happy to help! Make sure to have photos handy, and please reach out to us within 5 business days of receiving your order.

Help! I’m missing items from my order.

Hey, we’re human too, and sometimes we make mistakes. If you’re missing something, just reach out to us at and we’ll be happy to help!

My order was marked as delivered, however, I cannot find it.

As soon as a package leaves our facility, delivery time (including delays) is up to the carrier. We kindly ask that customers allow 3-5 business days from the delivery date for the package to hopefully find its way to the correct address. Sometimes carriers may mark a package as delivered before it actually reaches its destination or in some cases, the package has been delivered to an Access Point/Locker for customer pickup. We recommend contacting the carrier directly with any shipping/delivery related issues since they'll have more information available.

We also encourage customers to double-check that your shipping address is correct before checking out. Soap Distillery is not liable for missing/lost/stolen packages due to incorrectly entered shipping information and we’re unable to request address changes with the carrier once the package has been processed.

Returns + Exchanges

Can I return or exchange the product I purchased?

If you’re not 100% satisfied with one of your Soap Distillery products, we would love to help you out! Please contact our Customer Service team at within two weeks of receiving your item, and we’ll take it from there. 

Due to the hygienic nature of our products, we can only accept returns on a case by case basis. If you have accidentally received the incorrect product, or if you have sustained shipping damage, please reach out to us so we may be able to assist you.

If your order arrived damaged, please send us an email at within 5 business days of receiving your order, including photos with a detailed description and we'll get it sorted out for you.

NOTE: We are unable to cover any shipping fees. Discontinued items, limited edition, special release, gift cards, or items not produced by Soap Distillery are final sale and not eligible for returns or exchanges.
