Behind the Scents: September Edition
DEAD LEAVES ON THE DIRTY GROUND
It's been a warm and beautiful start to fall with regard to the weather here, and I canNOT wait for one of my favorite things which is watching scary movies! I love the classics, but I also love the more creative thrillers like Midsommar which is horrifying but incredible. The Witch is also one of those "holy crap this is so tense but I can't stop watching" movies that has been on the list.

While I wait for scary season, I went apple picking with some friends which is something I love to do to round the season out. I do have a garden at home, but sadly, it's been largely ignored so my harvest this year is basically two cherry tomatoes and a singular, floppy blade of lemongrass. Oh, and don't let me forget my four strawberries!
I love going to the orchard because there are usually peppers, pumpkins, etc there, including berries! So far, I've made a blackberry jam, black raspberry syrup, and eggplant parmesan, and I've snacked on apples and raspberries. Tonight, it's spicy garlic pickles, more jam, and pickled nasturtium seeds which I was able to harvest. Apparently they taste like mustard seed so I'm excited to see how they come out! Do you have a fall tradition?
SOMETHING NEW IS COMING...
Remember when I hinted towards something for fall? Well, one project got cancelled, however, this project has not been canceled and it's going to launch soon! Just picture this: You're in the dark of the woods, surrounding a campfire with your closest friends while someone breaks out the marshmallows and begins roasting them. Conifers quietly sway in the cooler night air, night blooming flowers glisten in the moonlight covered in droplets of dew. After eating a roasted 'mallow, one friend begins to regale the others with a scary story, perfect for the current setting...
Available soon as a bar soap and candle, Ghost Stories launches next week for both retail and wholesale, and this limited launch will go quick! This scent, filled with notes of roasted marshmallow, pine needle, eucalyptus, cedar and moonflower. We've been quiet lately, but certainly not still :)
On top of that, I'm also thinking about new holiday scents for next year! What do you think we should make since the classics are going away (don't worry, they are coming back for one more round in about a month)? Let me know in the comments ⬇️⬇️⬇️
WHILE YOU WAIT...

Keep on fighting the good fight, vote in local elections because they are far more important that you may think, and never forget that joy is an act of resistance. 💗
