AUGUST IS COMING IN HOTTTTT

I can't believe July is almost OVER. It's been a full month of gardening, hiking, and going to concerts almost every weekend and I gotta tell ya: I'm exhausted. lol It's a good kind of exhausted though, like that feeling of accomplishment after a long hard road. Or, like, you've been planning a party for months, and now you can finally enjoy it because party day is here, and your heart is full watching everyone enjoy themselves. Chicago is such a great town for music as SO many bands come through here, and it was awesome to Sylvan Esso, Alabama Shakes, and The Wu Tang Clan on their final tour. Did you see any bands this month?

HOLIDAY ON MY MIND

Two jars of Tomato Vine & Lemon Basil hand cream and scrub stacked on a wooden stick with green leaves in the background.

July also means that holiday planning is in full swing! It doesn't look like it on the outside, but inside the studio, we're already thinking about scent notes like peppermint, clove, red wine, whiskey spice, and eggnog. All the while we've still been focused on summer with the release of this new and limited Summer Solstice Hand Care Kit which you all snatched up with the quickness! There are only a couple of these left, and once they are gone, they are gone. So if you wanna rub the scent of a thriving garden on your hands, check it out. It's honestly, and proudly, the best "tomato leaf" scent I've ever used.

Would you be interested in seeing this in a candle or something else? I'm curious! Let me know here.

SUMMER VIBES GOIN' STRONG

summer picks! check em' out here: https://soapdistillery.com/search?type=product&options%5Bprefix%5D=last&q=%22summer+picks%22Have you checked out my summer curation collection yet? It truly brings me some bright and summery fragrance every morning so I can keep the summer vibes going all day long. In case you missed it, I've been switching my soaps up and rotating between the Long Island Iced Tea on a typical day, Desert Lavender on more stressful days, and Mint Mojito for those days where I've been draggin' a**. We allllll seem to be having days like that recently. Then, I've been scrubbing with the Agave + Salted Peel Solid Scrub Bar when I need a little extra skin smoothing (especially today where the legs are out because it's been HOTTTTTT), and then soothing my skin with the En Provence Body Oil which now has a pump top and it's easier to dispense the product. 🩷The Pink Grapefruit Lavender candle is now exclusively burning in the kitchen, so it always smells like a Parisian market while she's burning :)

WHEN WE THRIVE, THEY THRIVE

CLOSE UP OF A GRASSHOPPER ON GRASS

Lastly, the eco-nerd in me HAS to share this little guy with you :) My garden hasn't been the best this year since I got started VERY late with my plantings (yeah, remember all those starter plants? I waited a full month to plant them after they were ready because I couldn't find the time, and I ended up planting them WAY too late). However, I have a few plants in the ground in my backyard and the tall grasses created the most amazing habitat for grasshoppers this year. It's been far more than in years past! Beneficial insects thrive when they have habitat to live in, and if they thrive, we thrive. And if we thrive, they thrive. You see how it all works? More native or naturalized plants help clean our air, improve our soil, and generally benefit us and we share this with the other life in our ecosystem so they can thrive too. The insects and animals need us as much as we need them. 💚

Stay strong, and keep fighting the good fight.
